questions
Ok this is still bothering me almost a year later.. so I just want to ask some opinions..

Let’s say.. Rush Limbaugh was out shopping and walking with a friend..

Because of who he is and what he does for work..

2 people threw eggs at rush and said friend and yelled hateful things at him.. both Rush and his friend got hit by the eggs.. Rushs ‘ car got hit as well..

Do you think it is right for the Friend to be upset that Rush did not offer to pay or help for the cleaning of the friends clothes because of the attack..or even accuse Rush of it being his fault because of what he does on the radio or since Rush was attacked as well.. and BOTH were in shock.. you just have to move on..and realize that bad things happen.. whether it was right or wrong..

What do you guys think.

and no they should not have been attacked.. that's not the point of the question..

Seriously.

And also, if you hang out with assholes like that, you should expect to be egged once in a while.

I think Rush should expect to get an angry response when he goes out in public, because he is a hateful person who says evil, horrible things. His friend knew the risk he took by being there, not that the egg attack was RIGHT, but things like that happen sometimes.

If you're talking about your own situation, it's a whole different thing. You are not to blame, and your friend should not expect you to take the blame for something that some other random idiot did.

Rush isnt responsible. He didnt initiate the attack and his friend is very well aware of what Rush does for a living and so by walking with him he is accepting that no matter what occurs he is willing to accept it and move on. Dont walk with controversial people if you dont want controversial things to happen to you...lol

I think said friend should realize that BOTH of them were attacked not just friend. It should not matter what "Rush" does for a living.

Complicated... clearly it is Rush's fault. And you are right, he should not be attacked. If it happened I would not be upset but also don't think it is right.

The reason I see it as Rush's fault is because of who he is and what he says. You can't pour gas on a fire and be in shock when you get burned. Just as, I'm sure, Rachel Maddow or Keith Olbermann wouldn't be welcomed at a Tea Party rally, Rush isn't really welcome in civilization.

So yea... the action isn't cool but what can really be expected? The fault isn't 100% his, I mean if you are going out in public with someone like that you have to expect SOME consequence. But still, going to place more of the blame with Rush.

I don't agree with you .. .. because this situation happened to me.. I was attacked with Eggs and called homophobic names.. because of a radio show I was on.. my "friend" said it was my fault he got egged.. and i should have offered to pay to clean his clothes.. I didnt egg him.. I didnt attack him.. I was attacked as well..

whoa... what you asked about and what happened to you are very different.

Rush makes his money making inflamatory statements and spewing hate on the air, telling rape victims to shut up - gas/flame analogy.

You were a radio personality and are an out individual, you weren't dumping gas on a fire.

big big difference. In your case, no, you were attacked because you are gay. your friend needs to stfu

Keith . i did tell people that i want there kids to get in a car crash.. so i did add fuel to the fire.but thats what they wanted me to say.. stuff like that.. . so same kind of thing.. thats why i used him as a reference.. i myself have problems distinguishing .. why we got attacked .. was it because of the crazy character i played on the show.. or cuz i was gay.. yes they yelled FAGGOT.. but .. even i question.. it.. its hard to explain.

We may have to agree to disagree on this... here's how i see it as different though:

If people attacked you and threw eggs saying "how dare you tell me you want my kids in a crash" - then yea, it's your character.

They didn't, they used homophobic slurs.

Back to your example... you said Rush attacked because of things he said. If he was randomly attacked for his size or something that is very different.

You are a very public gay person and from what little I know it appears that's what the deal was.

In the end - the attack is not right (in either/any case) and the friend can't bitch in your case. just my thoughts

and no they should not have been attacked.. that's not the point of the question..

You said it right there. 'they' should not have been attacked. They were both attacked, granted, one was more the target than the other, but they were both attacked and that sucks, but you move on.

I was at a party one time when out of nowhere eggs came flying by some random frat boys. It hit my friend and got in her hair and another on her clothes. Instead of crying, she went home, changed, and came back out to the party.

Shit happens, move on.

Said friend has chosen to associate with a fascist. As such, he deserves being egged just as much as Rush does.
