Job Issues
It really sucks .. that because of how I do my job.. I get backlash .. and bullshit for it.

When I am at work.. I am available for my team to ask questions anytime.

If I come in an hour early.. and people have questions I answer them.. if I am supposed to be at lunch.. I answer them. I normally don't get paid extra for this time.. I just mark it off as I'm helping my team.. and the people I manage.

None of them think oh he's on lunch.. we won't bother him and if I am sarcastic or try to give a hint they still stand there and wait for the answer.. the only way I can avoid it is to come in right as my shift starts and always leave for lunch.. I don't want to do that.

The thing that gets me is that I don't mind answering questions.. I don't mind helping.. it’s what I like about my job the most..

What I don't like.. is when I get questioned about why am I getting overtime pay for a few hours a week.. when no one else is.. or if I ask someone a question or am discussing a work related issue and I am told.. I am on lunch.. I don't want to talk about this. Yes they have the right to do that.. but damn it.. don't come back at me and ask me why I get certain things.. and you don't.. when I put in so much more time.

I come in to work almost right at start time every morning, but I frequently eat lunch at my desk. I also rarely take breaks - it's a desk job, I just don't really feel I need to. People are constantly asking me questions or pulling me in to meetings on 'my' time. But nobody questions if I put some OT on my time card (only when I actually stay late) or if I wander in a couple minutes late or leave a little early. if you count my break times and all the time I spend working when I shouldn't be the company really gets a bargain deal on me. :)

Sucks when people are rude about it in reverse though. I often throw it back at them when they need me

Ya I dont take breaks either.. and its frustrating to me.. when all the smokers take as many breaks as they do.. if i take a break its cuz i have to pee and im gone 5 min. I finally said at work the other day I need to either

have kids- so i can call in sick (even though i have no sick time)
find religion - so i can say i cant work weekends or certain nites of the week)
become a smoker - take as many breaks as i want
get married - all that stuff you know.

I smoke when I'm out at bars but hate smelling like smoke at work. I occasionally have smoking meetings or on a really bad day I might take a smoke break to get away from my desk for awhile. but yah. I don't have kids, religion, and I'm not married.. so somehow that means I work more too.
